CEBU CITY- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu here has surpassed its revenue collection target for August 2026, collecting Php 4.062 billion against its assigned target of Php 3.975 billion.

Based on the port’s collection data, it generated a total revenue of Php 4,061,858,713.18, exceeding its monthly target of Php 3,975,002,780.97 by Php 86,855,932.21, thereby gaining a 2.19% collection surplus.

The said positive performance were largely due to the huge collection of its two Subports, Mactan and Dumaguete, the former actually collected Php 534,792,471.76 versus its assigned target of Php 179,764,200.00, thus posting a surplus of Php 355,028,271.76, (197.50% above target).

For its part, the Subport of Dumaguete actually collected Php 683,860,642.10 against its target of Php 582,996,480.00, exceeding its goal by Php 100,864,162.10 (17.30% above target).

On top of this revenue collection efficiency isDistrict Collector Atty. Zsae Carrie C. De Guzman who did the sterling performance despite just assuming office last July after her stint in the Port of Clark as its port’s Deputy Collector for Operations.

De Guzman who replaced Collector Alexandra Yap Lumontad attributed the positive collection performance to strengthened revenue monitoring, proper valuation and assessment, and the collective efforts of the Port’s personnel in ensuring the efficient collection of lawful duties and taxes.

“This achievement reflects the consistent work of our personnel and the cooperation of our stakeholders. Beyond meeting our revenue responsibilities, we remain focused on ensuring that our processes are efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the trading community,” District Collector De Guzman said.

With Collector De Guzman at the helm, the Subport of Mactan based in Lapu-Lapu City is led by Collector Gerardo Campo while Collector Jonah Herbert Dollano heads the Subport of Dumaguete situated in Negros Oriental./CCO with PR
