Rapid International has officially introduced the Philippines’ first electric vehicle (EV) ambulance—an innovation poised to transform the landscape of emergency medical services. The unveiling and blessing were held at the picturesque Lighthouse Baywalk of NUSTAR Resort & Casino, attended by Wuling Cebu & BYD Cebu President & CEO Mr. Edward Onglatco, RAPID Philippines National Chancellor RBOT Allan R. Librando, MD, MBA, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, Mr. Ben Chua, and His Excellency Most Rev. Archbishop Jose S. Palma, Archbishop Emeritus of Cebu.

More than a ceremonial milestone, the launch signals a forward-thinking shift in both healthcare delivery and transportation. By merging life-saving functionality with environmentally responsible technology, the EV ambulance introduces a smarter, greener standard for medical response—one that prioritizes both patient care and planetary health.
Rapid International (Philippine Chapter) Executive Director Rafael Enriquez underscored that the initiative reflects a growing global movement toward reducing dependence on fossil fuels, especially in critical services. Fully equipped with essential medical facilities on par with conventional ambulances, the EV unit ensures that sustainability enhances—rather than compromises—performance and reliability in emergency situations.

This pioneering effort forms part of a broader vision to integrate green mobility into public service infrastructure, particularly in urban centers where the demand for efficient healthcare and the urgency of environmental solutions continue to intensify.
As the Philippines accelerates its transition toward renewable energy and eco-friendly transport, Rapid International’s EV ambulance stands as a powerful benchmark—paving the way for cleaner, smarter, and more resilient emergency response systems nationwide.
