A simple request for bond paper has grown into a lasting investment in the future of nearly 2,000 pupils of Subangdaku Elementary School.
During the regional kickoff of Brigada Eskwela 2026, Subangdaku Elementary School officially received a new two-story educational facility donated by Eduardo and Maria Mediatrix “Medy” Ngo of Dynamic Castings Inc.—a landmark project that stands as a powerful symbol of what collaboration and shared purpose can achieve for education.

The newly turned-over building features 10 classrooms, a multi-purpose auditorium, and a gymnasium, providing students with a more inspiring and future-ready learning environment. More than just a structure, the project represents a united effort among the private sector, government agencies, educators, parents, and the community to uplift public education.
“When communities, governments, agencies, private institutions, and schools work together, challenges become opportunities and dreams become realities,” said DepEd Central Visayas Regional Director Dr. Arturo Bayocot.
Engr. Michael Oliver de Guzman of the DepEd Education Facilities Division described the turnover as “a celebration of partnership, generosity, and shared responsibility,” emphasizing its role in helping address the country’s classroom shortage.

For Dynamic Castings Inc. Managing Director Marylou Ngo-Ang, the project began with something unexpectedly simple.
“Their request was very simple—bond paper,” she shared. “This may very well be the most expensive bond paper donation in the history of the province.”
What started as a modest appeal eventually evolved into a transformative educational initiative. Construction began in December 2024 and was completed about a year and a half later.
The facility is also set to become home to a Khan Academy Learning Center, with plans underway for an e-library that will further strengthen students’ access to digital learning and modern educational tools.
Adding to the momentum, Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro pledged ₱5 million for the establishment of a speech laboratory aimed at enhancing students’ communication and English proficiency skills.

“It takes parents, teachers, government, private sector partners, and ordinary citizens coming together because we all believe that our children deserve the best possible future,” Baricuatro said.
Accepting the donation, school head Iris Mae Petacio described the new building as more than just an educational facility.
“It is also a lesson about generosity and a shared mission that will transform our community,” she said.

For everyone behind the initiative, the Subangdaku school building now stands as a lasting reminder that when businesses, communities, schools, and government unite with a common purpose, they create opportunities that will empower generations of learners for years to come.
