CELEBRITY LAWYER OLIVER MOELLER GRACES DATU LAPULAPU EAGLES CLUB PICKLEBALL TOURNEY AWARDING NIGHT

LAPU-LAPU CITY- Being one of their own, celebrity lawyer Oliver Moeller graced over the weekend the awarding ceremony of the 1st Datu LapuLapu Eagles Club (DLEC) and Datu Lapulapu Lady Eagles Club (DLLEC) Pickleball Tournament held in the sprawling Mactan Pickleball Club in Casanta Soong, Brgy. Moeller who became a bonafide Eagle in 2024 as DLEC Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS), awarded the championship trophy to the duo of Eagle Venz Ruel Augusto and Lady Eagle Jane Cuadras.

The pair won over the tandem of Eagle Junelve Tumulak and Bunso Kwen Martel (1st runner-ups) who earlier prevailed upon the partnership of Eagle Chris Villocido and guest player Marie Nielson (2nd runner-ups).

In the championship match, Augusto, a Lapu-Lapu City based businessman was able to held ground against Tumulak as he did well to compensate to the pickleball skill of Cuadras who is already a Level 3.0 pickleball player from Liloan town.

Because of the presence of Moeller, the championship game became lively as some spectators especially the women who were not yet familar with the celebrity lawyer took turns in having their “selfies” with him.

A Filipino-German, Moeller is a sports buff and a pickleball enthusiast himself. Their family owns the Mactan Pickleball Club playing courts which is just located near the Nimo Brew Cafe, their anchor establishment.

The thirty-something lawyer is of one of the two children of Joy Potot Moeller, an Oponganon and Dr. Heino Moeller, a German marine biologist. His two uncles, Nelson and Dennis, who are also both “Eagles” belonging to DLEC, are siblings of his mother.

A Cornerstone Entertainment talent artist, Moeller was discovered in April 2024 during his guesting on the noontime show “It’s Showtime” over GMA-7 where he was chosen by celebrity searcher, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee during the “EXpecially For You” episode of the top rating mid-day show.

The said pickleball tournament has been made possible under the twin leaderships of Eagle Al Espinola, the DLEC president and Lady Eagle Sheila Mae Valiente Paquibot, the DLLEC president. Both clubs is mulling a next season tournament because of the resounding success of the first staging.
