Romance, creativity, and real-life love stories took center stage as Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu unveiled “The Brides at the Triton” during the much-anticipated Triton Wedding Expo and International Fashion Arts Weekend 2026 marking a milestone fifth year for one of Cebu’s premier wedding showcases.

With more than 90 wedding exhibitors, this year’s edition reaffirmed its stature as a dynamic platform where industry leaders, creatives, and couples converge to celebrate modern love and meaningful beginnings. From March 21 to 22, guests explored curated wedding services, exclusive offers, and immersive experiences designed to guide couples through every stage of their journey toward “Promise in Paradise.”
Set against the elegant backdrop of the resort’s iconic Triton Ballroom, “The Brides at the Triton” brought to life a refined bridal experience that seamlessly blends luxury with personalization. The showcase featured a stunning array of bridal looks—from timeless classics to contemporary couture—paired with thoughtfully designed venue stylings that demonstrated the versatility of the space for both grand and intimate celebrations.

In his opening remarks, Jpark VP for Operations and General Manager Anders Hallden emphasized the evolution of weddings today. “Weddings today are no longer simple occasions, but deeply personal journeys shared with family and loved ones,” he shared. “The Brides at Triton keeps evolving as a wedding expo. It is now becoming a platform for creative ideas and personal stories to come together.”

Adding a heartfelt dimension to the event, celebrity couple Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and Jason Francisco offered an honest and refreshing perspective on love beyond the wedding day. Their candid insights resonated with couples, highlighting how marriage is sustained not just by romance, but by daily commitment and shared growth.
For Melai, love deepens over time and purpose. “Pag first pa sa kasal, sobra ka in love. Pero along the way, it becomes deeper,” she shared during an onstage interview. “Hindi na lang ‘in love’ may reason na; you realize why God gave you to each other.” Reflecting on their 13 years of marriage, she added that their relationship continues to grow stronger through mutual learning.
Jason, meanwhile, grounded love in consistency. “Hindi everyday, always ‘in love,’” he said. “Pero as long as you stay and keep doing your best, that’s real love. You experience a different kind of love every day.” Their dynamic underscored a central truth echoed throughout the expo that lasting marriages are built on intentional choices and shared purpose.
The couple also emphasized the importance of thoughtful wedding planning as a foundation for married life. “Isang beses lang ‘yan mangyayari, so hanapin niyo talaga ‘yung mga suppliers na gusto ninyo,” Jason advised, with Melai adding, “Pag gagastos ka na rin lang, doon ka na sa best para wala kang pagsisihan.”

Beyond the runway and exhibits, the two-day event delivered a comprehensive wedding experience. Guests gained culinary insights from Chef Deofrey Vistal on crafting memorable menus, explored creative gifting ideas from Dazzle Gifts Cebu, received practical planning advice from Vangail’s Perfect Union, and enjoyed a curated art exhibit by Roel Cabulang, IFAW’s Artist of the Year.
As part of the International Fashion & Arts Weekend, the event also featured a grand runway show highlighting collections by designers Chynna Mamawal, Jaki Peñalosa, Axel Que, and SCI PH blending global inspiration with storytelling through fashion.

Supported by key partners including China Airlines as airline partner and Oro China Jewelry as jewelry partner, the expo reinforced its vision as a holistic wedding platform where couples can discover trusted suppliers and bring their dream celebrations to life.
At its heart, The Brides at Triton 2026 celebrated real stories of love captured best in Melai’s signature warmth and humor: “Sa mga gusto magpakasal—pakasal na mo!”
With its seamless blend of fashion, artistry, and heartfelt storytelling, Jpark Island Resort continues to redefine wedding experiences in Cebu. As the event celebrates its fifth successful year, it stands as a powerful reminder that a true “Promise in Paradise” is not just a moment, but a lifetime intentionally chosen and shared.
