LAPU-LAPU CITY – The Bureau of Customs Subport of Mactan here surpassed its 2025 annual revenue target -acquiring a collection surplus of more than P700 million.
Collection data obtained revealed that the Subport actually collected P2, 322, 112, 644. 19 which was higher than the target of P1, 580, 830. 000.00 thus gaining a surplus of P741, 282, 664.19 (46.89% positive deviation).
Subport Collector Gerardo Campo, LCB, said that the accomplishment was a product of “team work” from the men and women of the Subport notably the assessment division led by OIC Deputy Collector for Assessment Nelie Wilwayco.
While Wilwayco took charged of Assessment matters, Campo also had Subport Deputy Collector Verlito Ajos to oversee the operations aspect, especially the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) passenger services led by Customs Operations Officer (COO 3) Jay Oyao.
“It was a team work that made it possible. Everybody did their contribution,” Campo told Newstar Philippines in a mix of English and Cebuano.
What made the collection accomplishment stood out was the fact that it surpassed all its monthly revenue targets capped by the highest monthly surplus last December where the actual collection exceeded more than P188 million as it reached P359 million while the target was just over P171 million.
As the data indicated, the collection performance of the Subport bolstered the 2025 annual collection performance of the Port of Cebu district collection office thereby also increasing its 2025 collection compared to 2024, ending it with a bang as it surpassed its December monthly target by actually collecting P4,238,266,068.74 surpassing its target of Php 4,166,970,000.00.
Overall statistics showed that the Port of Cebu actually collected P48.669 billion for 2025 which was higher than the P44.79 billion that it collected during the previous year.
The Port of Cebu performed remarkarbly despite the sudden replacement of leadership as District Collector Alexandra Yap Lumontad erstwhile of the Port of Cagayan de Oro City succeded Collector Felipe Geoffrey De Vera last November 3, 2025.
De Vera assumed as the District Collector of the Manila International Container Port (MICP), the country’s biggest port last December.
