Light the World Giving Machines Reach Record Four Philippine Cities for the 2025 Holiday Season
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially launched the 2025 Light the World Giving Machine season in the Philippines today, expanding the initiative to a record four locations across the archipelago. For the first time, Bacolod City joins Manila, Cebu, and Davao in hosting the popular “vending machines that give back.”
A Tradition of Generosity
The Philippines has hosted Giving Machines since 2018. In 2024, over 6,300 donors contributed ₱750,000. This year, organizers hope to reach even more Filipinos, with items available for donation starting as low as ₱50.
“Through the Giving Machines, we follow the example of Jesus Christ by reaching out to those in need,” said Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong, First Counselor in the Philippines Area Presidency. “Every donated item represents an opportunity to bring hope, comfort, and relief to a fellow Filipino.”
How to Participate
The machines function like a standard vending machine, but instead of buying a snack, you “purchase” a specific gift for someone in need—such as a student’s school kit, a hygiene pack for a survivor of abuse, or medical supplies for a child with cancer. * 100% Goes to Charity: The Church covers all administrative and credit card fees, ensuring every peso goes directly to the chosen organization.
-
Payment Options: Donors can contribute using cash or various e-payment methods including GCash and PayMaya.
- Availability: Most machines will remain open to the public through early January 2026
In Cebu, the Light the World Giving Machine returns to the South Road Properties area for the 2025 holiday season. This unique “vending machine” allows visitors to provide immediate humanitarian relief to local families through carefully selected charity partners.

LightTheWorld is a global initiative to share the love of Jesus Christ through service. Beyond the machines, Filipinos are encouraged to perform small acts of kindness daily.
