₱12M Released, Lives Rebuilt
Bethel General Insurance and Surety Corporation has paid out over ₱12 million to Cebu policyholders whose vehicles were declared total losses after Typhoon Tino, with more claims set for release in the coming weeks. As floodwaters surged past dashboard level—rendering repairs impractical—insured motorists recovered fair market value, while many uninsured owners were forced to sell wrecked vehicles for as little as ₱20,000.

For families in Consolacion, Pit-os, and Liloan, comprehensive coverage proved decisive—turning shock and loss into relief and recovery. Regional Head Jecelyn Casquejo underscored the lesson: once floodwaters reach the dashboard, systems fail and costs exceed value. Drawing from Yolanda’s aftermath, she stressed that full coverage enables faster rebuilding, while minimal insurance often leads to collapse.

As Bethel marks 65 years and expands across Cebu, its swift payouts after Typhoon Tino spotlight insurance as a critical safety net—absorbing disaster’s blow, accelerating recovery, and restoring confidence when it matters most.
