Mission accomplished.

Even with still two months left for 2025, the Subport of Mactan has already hit its “assigned” annual revenue target.Β

The Subport which also covers the Mactan Economic Zone’s (MEZ 1,2,3) and the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has already collected P1, 778, 911, 457.00 as against its assigned annual target of P1, 580, 830, 000. 00 thereby attaining a running surplus ofΒ  P198, 081, 457, 00 (12.53 positive deviation).

Subport of Mactan Collector Gerardo Campo, LCB, said that the success of the subport is a collective effort by all of its men and women, notably the Assessment Division led by Deputy Subport Collector for Assesment Nellie Wilwayco.

On the operation side, Campo has Deputy Collector Verlito Ajos as the focal person who have stint in the MCIA BoC desk for several years, rosing from it ranks before his subsequent career promotions.Β

Campo revealed apart from the implementation of correct duties and taxes of imported goods, their bible is the guidance and instruction of his superiors, Port of Cebu District Collector Alexandra Yap Lumontad and Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.Β

“It is about following whatever are their directives aside from imposing correct duties and taxes on imported

goods,” Campo told Newstar Philippines in a mixed of Cebuano and English.

Lumontad recently took the place of Collector Felipe Geoffrey De Vera who has been reassigned by Commossioner Nepomuceno to the Commissioners Office duly approved by Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

Lumontad, the aunt of popular PBA superstar turned San Juan City councilor James Yap is also a seasoned customs career officer before she got her presidential appointment as Collector of Customs 6.

Prior to her Cebu posting, Lumontad used to be the collector of customs in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after her stint in Cagayan de Oro City.

She has just recently paid a courtesy call to Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro to discuss collaborative efforts in the performance of their respective tasks for continued economic growth and progress for Cebu.

Aside from overseeing the Port of Cebu in Cebu City and the Subport of Mactan, Collector Lumontad also has supervisorial jurisdiction over the Subport of Dumaguete in Negros Oriental and the Panglao International Airport BoC satellite office in Bohol.
