CEBU CITY- The Bureau of Customs (BoC) Port of Cebu here has surpassed its July revenue target collection.
“For July 2025, the Port recorded a total collection of ₱4.61 billion, surpassing its assigned target of ₱4.330 billion by ₱286.91 million or 6.63%,” the port’s officialdom recently revealed it via its Facebook page.
The port, it added, actually collected P27.93 billion from January to July 2025 which translates to a “3.12 billion or 12.59% increase from the ₱24.81 billion collected during the same period in 2024.”
Port of Cebu district collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey De Vera is at the helm of the port which has operational and supervision control also of its two Subports, Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City led by Collector Gerardo Campo and Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental spearheaded by Atty. Vicente Andrew Espina.
The port’s assessment division chief Atty. Kenneth Kernn Sesante, also the concurrent chief of staff of Coll. De Vera said that the success was a result of “teamwork, commitment and dedication” of the men and women of the port.
“This is a team effort. The commitment and dedication of everybody paid off,” Sesante told 𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨.
The bulk of the revenue collection according to cash division chief Conrado Abarintos were from oil and petroleum products, coal, steel and other construction materials as well as rice and frozen meat importations.
Notable in the impressive collection performance is the Subport of Mactan as it achieved for the “seventh” straight time that it surpassed their monthly target.
The subport’s deputy collector for assessment Nellie Wilwayco reported an actual revenue collection of P189, 688, 505.42 surpassing its July assigned target of P117, 050, 000.00.
With Campo’s leadership, the “7th time” that the port accomplished it – from January to July without any missed, it garnered a cummulative collection of P1, 238, 281, 248.06., just about P342, 548, 752 short of P1, 580, 830, 000. 00 assigned annual revenue target for 2025.
Other than Wilwayco, Campo’s key officers in the subport are Deputy Collector Verlito Ajos and Mactan Airport Passenger Services OIC Jay Oyao.
Incidentally, the Subport received an award from the Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) – “Best Government Agency Stakeholder Award” during its 35th anniversary celebration program held last July 30 at the posh Nustar Hotel Resort and Casino.
